HintOfLime Re: Why isn't anyone on JWN invited to the Facebook discussion by AWAA tonight? posted 12 days ago (4/13/2013) Post 2065 of 2089 Since 4/24/2009 "It can take 2-12 months (usually between 4 and 6) to become a recognized 501c non-profit. Searches don't seem to list them yet at: http://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/pub78Search.do?searchChoice=ePostcard&dispatchMethod=selectSearch and http://501c3lookup.org/ (Although there is likely some delay before they are listed online) It would suggest they aren't quite a non-profit yet, and are just merely incorporated." http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/scandals/250425/7/Why-isnt-anyone-on-JWN-invited-to-the-Facebook-discussion-by-AAWA-tonight

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Proof of God or Christ without a holy book
by Awen inin some previous posts i have asked certain questions that still haven't been answered.
so without going back to those threads and possibly de-railing them i thought it best to make a new topic.
please bear with me.. i have asked certain ones to prove the existence of god or christ without referencing any biblical writings or characters.

Good questions.. Perhaps he was heavily edited. As tec said to me on the 'animal suffering' thread, don't believe what the Bible says.. (only the nice parts that you want to)

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

As for James 3:1 ... Only 8 men are the teachers today, everyone else just nod and take notes. Didn't anybody tell you? ;)

"something like since man has fallen, and the beasts were subjected under his authority, that they eventually descended into a fallen nature as well..." -- So God cursed all of the animals because the person supervising them did something wrong?? An animal cannot 'sin', and where is this 'eventual descent into fallen nature' of animals mentioned in the Bible? That's new to me...

LisaRose -- How about the animals that were killed because they belonged to a city with 'bad people' in it/stoned along with someones family for the mans 'sin'/drowned in the flood/drowned in Red Sea etc. ? Not just sacrifices..
